How to cook Pancit Canton with Chicken

I have cooked another pancit noodles recipe again. Pancit Canton is also one of Filipinos favorite.  Lately, I found one ingredient that will make it more delicious than the usual pancit canton and that is adding an oyster sauce.

It adds flavor to it and it doesn't need salt and other artificial flavors to make it delicious. You can add some of your desired ingredients to your own canton. In fact, many of this has different version so why not be creative and have your own Pancit canton.

Try it and see for yourself.

  • Egg Noodles
  • 1 chicken breast shredded
  • 2 cups chicken broth from chicken breast
  • 1/4 cup kikiam or fishball, sliced into strips (depends on you)
  • 1 cup cabbage, sliced into strips
  • 1 cup carrot, sliced into strips
  • 1 cup baguio beans
  • 1/4 cup bell pepper, sliced into strips
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 pc onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, mined
  • calamansi
  • 2 cups water for cooking the egg noodles
  • 2 cups water for cooking the chicken breast (it will be your chicken broth after)

Cooking the Egg Noodles:

  • Boil 2 cups of water and cook the egg noodles for 6-7 minutes.
  • Drain water and set aside.

  1. Set stove into low heat
  2. Sauté garlic, onion, Kikiam and shredded chicken
  3. Add Baguio beans, carrots, bell pepper and cabbage. Do not overcook vegetables.
  4. Add chicken broth and simmer.
  5. Add Egg noodles until everything is cooked.
  6. Stir and serve it hot with calamansi.
